Active Mums and Bumps

Specifically designed blended walking and low impact exercise class  (indoors) for new mums together with their babies, to return to fitness, and keep fit and active following birth in a safe, fun and effective way.  We pay particular attention to posture, back care and daily living activities.  Babies can work out with mum in baby carriers (bring your own or we can supply, and are baby carrier peer supporters ) or in buggies where space allows.

Did you know that being active following birth has so many health benefits for you and your baby, and it is also fantastic fun!

What Happens at the Active Mums Session?

Warm welcome to you and your baby & completion of enrolment/health screening forms if not already done. Support to safely position baby in carrier if using, or settle in safe baby play area

Warm up walking laps and mobilising exercises to music, to warm up the muscles and mobilise the joints

Brisk walking around the venue

Intermittent low impact aerobic & muscular strengthening exercises to music at a variety of stations

Gentle paced walking laps, warm down and stretching exercises to music

Time to chat with other mums over healthy refreshments


Wear loose, comfortable clothing (supportive bra) and suitable and supportive footwear

Bring along a water bottle to keep hydrated

Remember your baby essentials....and feel free and relaxed to feed & care to baby's needs at any time
