What Happens at the Postnatal Aromatherapy and Massage Session?

Prior to coming along we will make sure that you have completed your online health questionnaire for us to begin to get to know you

Your first session will involve an initial assessment to understand where you are in your postnatal recovery and what your needs are, whether you are just needing some 'me time' or have specific areas of pain and/or discomfort that may need relief

'Self Care' is more important than ever, so we will check your posture so that you are aware of how your body has changed. This self awareness will help you to regain your health and fitness post birth

We will make you as comfortable as possible supported by pillows and within a relaxing environment, whilst you then lay back and enjoy your individualised relaxing/therapeutic treatment. No one massage is ever the same, it will be a mix of techniques according to your needs

Following your treatment you will be offered water to keep hydrated, take your time to sit up, come round and get dressed

We will send you home/or leave you with your very own 'home care' plan to support you at home if required

Don't forget to book your next session before you leave so that you can continue to benefit and aid your postnatal recovery; we are here to help and support you all the way

Tips

Make sure that you have filled out your online health from before you arrive

Please arrive on time so that you don't miss out on your valuable 'me time'

Wear comfortable clothing that is easy to slip off and on

Don't eat a heavy meal prior to you massage, ideally a light meal 2 hours prior

Try to book your appointment around what suits you, we will try to accommodate you as much as possible

Everybody likes different pressure during the massage, so don't be afraid to say if you would like the pressure deeper or lighter

Massage shouldn't hurt, you may feel some discomfort in areas of tightness but pain shouldn't outweigh your experience

We think you deserve a little 'me time' so if possible we would recommend that you take advantage of any willing babysitter!
