Midwife and Director
Qualified as a Midwife 25 years ago and I have worked in all areas of Midwifery practise including delivery suite, community and as a research Midwife. In 1995 I trained as a massage therapist and aromatherapist and have recently specialised in pregnancy and postnatal massage and remedial therapy and baby massage. My passion for health and fitness stems from undertaking Aquanatal training and delivering classes in Leeds. Appreciating the wonderful benefits of Aquanatal during pregnancy, and gaining further insight into the physical/emotional and social demands of pregnancy, I then went on to specialise in ante/postnatal Fitness. I also have a passion for delivering antenatal education, preparing parents-to-be for a positive birth experience and for the early challenges of parenthood. I am also a KGHypnobirthing teacher. I am a very proud mum to 3 wonderful children who keep me very busy and entertained!
Midwife and Director
Qualifying as a Midwife over 35 years ago (how scary!), I have a wide range of experience looking after parents and babies in the healthcare setting. Working in both hospital and community, I have also developed and co-ordinated Antenatal & Parentcraft Programmes across Leeds and absolutely love teaching and helping parents prepare for a positive childbirth experience and for the exciting challenges of parenthood. I am also a KGHypnobirthing teacher too. My passion for women’s health surrounding childbirth has inspired me to train further in physical activity and exercise, facilitating classes in water, studio and outdoors, so I can help improve mothers’ physical, mental & social wellbeing during this unique time in their lives. My greatest qualification though is as Mum to four grown-up children and busy, doting Grandma to three gorgeous boys. When I do have time, I love to enjoy the outdoors either in my gorgeous garden, or on long walks in the countryside.
RGN RHV (BSc Hons) HPE (MSc)
I am qualified as a general nurse, midwife, health visitor and lecturer and have now worked in the healthcare setting for over 30 years. As I had a strong desire to work in the community I completed my health visitor training in 2002. This training developed my skills in public health including all levels of need and diversity. I believe strongly in a family-centred approach towards addressing the needs of children, young people and families from the early stages in order to influence healthy lifestyles and choices. I currently work in as a team leader managing 25 staff to address the health needs of the local community and to deliver the healthy child programme.
In my free time I enjoy activities with my family (I have three teenager children). I like to keep busy and enjoy a number of interests – dog walking, gardening (my allotment is my secret Idaho), reading, listening to live bands/shows, travelling and catching up with friends and family. I enjoy cooking and creative projects; my latest ones are learning to speak Spanish and now attending crochet taster classes!

Early Years Teacher and Mum
I am currently an early years teacher in a primary school but I have a degree in leisure and sports studies that focused on how healthy lifestyles can affect different groups within society and different leisure activities. I have a masters in cultural studies, a post graduate certificate in early years studies with early years professional status (0-5) and early years education with qualified teacher status (3-7). For the last 16 years I have been a swimming teacher, teaching everyone from babies to coaching masters swimming and I myself am a passionate swimmer. I have worked as a swim manager in a gym and I also have taught multi sports within the community. Part of my role in school is as PE leader and promoting healthy lifestyles for pupils and staff alike. I am also a qualified lifeguard and trainer assessor for the RLSS, meaning I can deliver courses on basic life support and choking. I am also mum to my baby boy sonny who has changed my world, but being fit and active has still remained a priority.
